Honorable Mention Artist’s Prayer Tamara Please bless me so that I might give others something to chew on, seasoned meat for their senses to digest. Let the blood of imagery, and spirit of passion, drip from my works, so they may latch upon it like a leach sucking dry the wounds of art. May my feet walk into the forbidden darkness, waltz with evils unknown to man, then hum the tune for others to dance. May my eyes be placed upon an Angel’s wing, my spirit wade amongst the clouds, then write of glories they’ve never seen. May my ears listen to the aged and dying, feel the moment before their death, then paint this picture in vivid hues. May my soul return to my mother’s womb, feel the warmth of nutured affection, then sing a song of nature’s re-birth. May my thought reside in a lover’s heart, circulate in the veins of romance, then recite the tale of a lover’s path. May my art bring, not just imagery, but also feeling to a stagnant soul. |
